Our Men’s Racketball Inter Counties team played in Nottingham at the weekend.
A fine effort from the whole squad, coming 3rd , well done team.
Captain, David Lobo’s match report below:
First match was against 1st seed Devon on the Saturday. Starting things off , our most experienced players at 4 and 5, Andy Corben and Jamie broomfield put on a fantastic performance by winning their matches 3/0 and getting us 2-0 up on the score board. Next one on was Alexis losing 3/0 on very competitive and close games agains Dave Palmer , followed by Neil and David losing their marches to 3/0 ( James Snell , current squash British champion O35s ) and Mike harris (former racketball British champion ). Overall a great performance by the team holding their own against a very strong team.
Sunday morning the team put on an outstanding performance to defeat Lincolnshire 5/0 with Marc and James getting the job done at 4 and 5 with great performances. Later in the afternoon, the team finished the job beating Yorkshire 5/0 to put Dorset on the podium once again as the 3rd best county in England.
